Week 15 Famous Last Words: Ran 5 miles !

I have been a sprinter all throughout high school and competed for my school in India. After a shoulder injury, I stopped being regular to practice and eventually quit. Even though I went on runs here and there, the conditioning I was used to wasn't there anymore. A couple of days ago, I decided to jump back into running. I was barely able to complete 5 miles and realized that lack of practice can be disastrous. I have made up my mind to at least run 20 miles a week to get back my stamina. Overall, I am happy with my growth this semester.

Famous Last Words: Cyberpunk 2077

I am super excited for this video game ( Cyberpunk 2077 ) that is supposed to release on December 10th. The game had four delays this year and was announced 8 years ago. It is supposed to be the biggest game ever released and the anticipation is really high. I am anxious because games like these have disappointed before and that would not be great for the gaming session in winter break !

Actor Keanu Reeves is playing an NPC
The actor Keanu Reeves is supposed to play a major role in the game. This will make the game more exciting and immersive!

Famous Last Words: Hip Hop Performance

Last week I talked about my Hip Hop class and my fear of going on stage to recite my poem . The recitation went great and I made a good grade in the first part of my final. This week we are supposed to sing a rap song on stage and mimic the artist's style. I am looking forward to it but it would be quite difficult to get back on flow, especially without a beat to back me up. I decided to pick Kendrick Lamar's Poetic Justice ! It is one of my favorite songs and I am glad to be able to sing it in front of my class.

I picked Lil Dicky's song, Earth  for this post ! Hope y'all have a great time listening to it !

Famous Last Words: Hip Hop Class

I have been making music since high school and was super excited to take a class on Hip Hop this semester. However it didn't fit exactly into my schedule like I would want it to. I have to recite a poem in class tomorrow and it seems like the most challenging thing ever. However, I have done enough research on rhyme schemes, I still do not feel as confident. We also have to freestyle rap battle at the end of the semester for a couple of minutes and I am not looking forward to it. To take my mind off the topic, I started listening to older hip hop songs and it honestly made me feel better. Listening to certain songs after years, is like meeting and old friend. I remember trying to memorize this song when I first heard it. It's funny how good music just stays in your memory amid all the chaos. You should definitely check out more music from Kendrick and his early era to get a flashback.

Here are some lines from Kendrick's Poetic Justice :

"Every time I write these words they become a taboo
Making sure my punctuation curve, every letter here's true
Living my life in the margin and that metaphor was proof
I'm talking poetic justice, poetic justice"

This is one of my favourite songs and I'm so glad that I added it to my playlist again

Album cover for good kid, m.A.A.d city

After listening to this album, Kendrick became one of my all time favourite hip hop artists!
